FORT WORTH, Texas (Dec. 17, 2012) -- Renfro Foods is kicking off the New Year with new and improved products. Not only has the original Mrs. Renfro's Nacho Cheese Sauce moved to all natural ingredients but two new nacho cheese products have been added to the category -- Mrs. Renfro's Chipotle Nacho Cheese Sauce and Mrs. Renfro's Ghost Pepper Nacho Cheese Sauce.
"Our Nacho Cheese Sauce has been an 'orphan' for years," says Renfro Foods president Doug Renfro, who is debuting the three products during the Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco, Jan. 20-22. "It hurts sales when you have only one item in a category, so expanding the flavor options was the logical product extension for us but we wanted to put a creative spin on it."
With the heat factor in foods still trending high in the marketplace, Renfro Foods chose different peppers rather than adding more jalapenos -- chipotle was selected for medium heat and ghost pepper for hot.
The new Mrs. Renfro's Chipotle Nacho Cheese Sauce combines the tasty blend of cheese sauce with smoky chipotle pepper. For those seeking more fire in their queso, Mrs. Renfro's Ghost Pepper Nacho Cheese Sauce features ghost pepper chiles.
All three products, packaged in 16-ounce jars, are expected to appear on store shelves by spring.
