We were disappointed to learn that our local HEB and Walmart stopped stocking this. Since we were completely out, I ordered from Renfro Foods directly and it arrived quickly and well packaged. Your Hot Chow Chow is our favorite!
I live in the southeast and lots of people rave about chow chow on different foods and in different foods. I’ve tasted quite a few different brands and they were good. As a fan of Mrs. Renfro’s for over 15 years, I figured if anyone makes great chow chow, this would be the place. I ordered my first jar and now I know why people love chow chow. I’ve never been disappointed with any Renfro products.
I got this jar from someone at the food bank this was wonderful with salmon patties and stir fried sweet potatoe..love it...
We use it in chicken salad all the time. However it is getting hard to find locally.
This is great on hot dogs, and not as sour as relish. But it has a bit too much water, so it sogs the bun unless I squeeze it out. Reminds me of tuna cans that are half water, which make me feel cheated. I'd be glad for a smaller jar that had less water - and it's less material waste.
